De Jonge would with his show The Oblivion, on the occasion of his eightieth birthday, will be in theaters this fall. But because he is working on the book The Zeeland Years, a third part in a series of autobiographical novels, it all became just a bit too much for him, he explains to this site. “From July 20, I will be going into the crazy grind of promotion. I don’t want to be stressed about that.”

The comedian, who provided the musical accompaniment to his wife Hella’s exhibition on Sunday, April 21, also states that his age also plays a role in the choice to postpone the performances. “Hella turned 75 on Sunday. And I’ll be 80 in August. We also have to conform to our age.”

However, people who wanted to buy tickets for the show don’t have to worry. “There will simply be new data,” De Jonge promises.

De Jonge made his last big show in early 2022, The Wrote. He has also hosted six election shows since 2003. The documentary is on Friday evening, May 3 The Atelier – portrait of Hella can be seen on NPO2 Extra at 8:30 PM. In it, De Jonge recorded his wife’s working method.
