British actress Cheryl Fergison talks about marriage to Moroccan

After their wedding in Agadir in 2011, Cheryl Fergison and Yassine Al-Jermoni experienced difficult times. The actress revealed that she lived apart from her husband for nine years due to the British immigration system. She fought for years to obtain a visa for her Moroccan partner. The actress, known for her role as Heather Trott in the BBC soap EastEnders (2007-2012), eventually got her way.

Today, Cheryl and Yassine live together in Blackpool with Alex (24), the actress’ son from her previous marriage to Afghan Jamshed Saddiqi, whom she divorced in 2008. “We try to keep our private lives private, but yes, financially it can be difficult to get those visas. But we’re here now, we’re in Blackpool – the Las Vegas of the North! – and we’re settled,” she says delighted TheSun.

Cheryl Fergison also revealed that she has cancer. After a smear test that showed no abnormalities, she started experiencing back pain and blood spots. She then decided to have an investigation done. Four months after a biopsy, Cheryl was diagnosed with stage 2 uterine cancer. She underwent a hysterectomy, which, she says, affected her view of herself as a woman. A “terrible period”, the British star calls it.
