Gerda, one of the well-known twins from the series Urk!, recently announced that she is pregnant with her second child. Her pregnancy also brings concerns. “I was scared.”
Gerda can’t wait to hold her second child in her arms, but for her twin sister Mathilde it’s double. “She just had a miscarriage,” Gerda explains to the weekly magazine Privé. “She also hopes to be pregnant again soon.”
Early
Gerda announced the pregnancy early on. “I also have trouble keeping my mouth shut,” she says. “We are being closely monitored by the series. If I’m somewhere and I don’t drink alcohol, I immediately notice this in Urk. I also stopped smoking, and soon the fanfare goes away. I wanted to prevent that from leaking and passing through the village.”
To assure
Gerda was very worried about the first ultrasound. “The baby is very deep, so we couldn’t see it well. With pain and effort we were able to catch a glimpse, but the most important thing now is that the heart is beating. I was afraid that things were no longer right,” she says. “On the day of the move I had some blood and I had had that before. This usually does not bode well for pregnancy. Fortunately, we saw the heart beating.”
Gerda initially thought that she had had a miscarriage, just like her sister Mathilde. “It made me sleep very badly. I kept thinking about Mathilde’s miscarriage. Fortunately, I can let it go now.”
