Succession to the throne does not have to be the only goal in the life of a crown princess, as the Swedish princess proves Victoria but again. The Swedish court has announced that she will start special officer training this autumn.
Military experience
Although Crown Princess Victoria has completed several forms of military training in the past, she will again be training at Sweden’s National Defense Academy this fall. Her training will contain a mix of both theoretical and practical elements. The choice for this did not come completely out of the blue.
Sweden’s accession to NATO due to the Ukrainian war has caused quite a few shifts in the relationship between the Swedish Royal House and Defense. And although king Carl Gustaf is currently the main character in everything related to the armed forces, it is important that Princess Victoria also continues to increase her knowledge and expertise in the military field. This is part of the preparation for her future role as head of state.

The training
Crown Princess Victoria is therefore going to start the Special Officer Training which will last as long as 20 to 25 months. During that time, she will immerse herself in the world of tactics and military strategy. The aim is for Victoria to learn more about the tasks and activities of the Swedish Armed Forces. According to Defense, this training is essential for her evolution into a future head of state.
This year is anything but boring for the Crown Princess. Not only will she embark on a new military adventure, but she will also be seen – at least the actress who portrays her – in a series about the Swedish royal family. Last year it was announced that this series, which highlights the turbulent lives of the Scandinavian royals, is in the making.
