Last Wednesday, a 16-year-old boy was robbed of his phone by a group of young people near Buikslotermeerplein. He was threatened with a machete. The police have arrested one suspect so far.

The robbery happened around 6:45 p.m. The boy, who was walking down the street with a friend, was accosted by the boys, chased and then out of nowhere hit him on the head. According to the police, a ‘hard object’ was used.

Machete

Under threat of a large machete, the boy eventually gives his phone to the robbers. A little later, the victim, together with the friend and a parent, decide to visit the boys.

The three find the group of boys in front of one of the shops on Buikslotermeerplein. This time the parent is threatened with the machete. The suspects then run away in the direction of the supermarket on the square.

One minor suspect has now been arrested, but the police say they cannot rule out that more arrests will be made soon. People who know more about the incident can contact us at 0900-8844 or anonymously at 0800-7000.
