Man who left a trail of blood in the North apartment was found injured hours later in the South

The police found an injured man in Zuid around 3 a.m. last night. At first it was not clear what exactly had happened to the man. It now appears that he was injured an hour earlier in an incident in Noord. How and why the injured victim went to the other side of the city is still part of the investigation.

The police were alerted around 1:45 am about a violent incident in an apartment on Elzenhagensingel in Noord. Officers found another man with injuries there. There was also a trail of blood running through the apartment.

More than an hour later, around 3 a.m., the emergency services were called to a report of a stabbing in the IJselstraat in Zuid. The injured man was found at the scene, but – partly due to a language barrier – it was not immediately clear how the man had been injured.

Further investigation shows that the man is the one who was injured on the Elzenhagensingel. The police assume that he went to South by taxi. It is still unclear why he did that. He has been taken to a hospital.
