Coen Swijnenberg and Sander Lantinga will start their morning show on JOE on Monday, May 6. This morning the radio station presented the plans for the morning show during a press breakfast in Amsterdam. The show will again be the ‘Coen & Sander Show!’ are called and can be heard between 6:00 and 10:00 am. Merel Westrik is the newsreader of JOE’s morning show.

Coen and Sander announced at the end of September that they will present the morning show on JOE. Because of the non-competition clause, the two initially had a ‘cooling off period’. During that period, they were not yet allowed to work for competitors, under penalty of often high fines. This being has expired as of today.

“After almost twenty years of sitting with the listener back in the car from work, we are going to get up with them on JOE,” Coen previously said about the switch. “We are very happy with this step and are looking forward to building the channel with a new, enthusiastic team.”

Coen & Sander Show

Coen and Sander started making a radio show together on Friday evenings on 3FM in 2004: ‘Lantinga & Swijnenberg’. In 2006 they switched to the afternoon of the channel, where they presented ‘De Coen en Sander Show’ between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 2015.

Coen and Sander started working at 538 in 2015, where they presented the afternoon show until the middle of last year. The channel canceled the daily afternoon show in June. Coen was given a lunch program and Sander started making the afternoon show on Radio Veronica. On Friday afternoon the two can still be heard together on 538.

The duo was not happy with the choice to stop their daily ‘Coen & Sander Show’. “I wouldn’t have made this choice myself. The morning show had just been renewed and ‘De Coen & Sander Show’ was the stable factor in the whole. We were doing well and that was also reflected in the figures,” Coen told RadioFreak at the end of last year.
