Next Shadow of the Erdtree no more DLC will be released for the action RPG Elden Ring. This was announced by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of game developer FromSoftware. Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on June 21.
In an interview with a Chinese medium, Miyazaki says this Shadow of the Erdtree the “first and only dlc is” for Elden Ring. This expansion has been in development for more than two years, which made the arrival of a second DLC unlikely. It is the first time that FromSoftware itself confirms that no new DLC will follow Shadow of the Erdtree.
Miyazaki says that Elden Ring revolves around “discovery and adventures in a big world”. A “vast, sprawling world” is needed to make that experience possible. The creator thinks it is better to make only one world, instead of splitting it into different parts.
In addition, Miyazaki confirms that the upcoming DLC Shadow of the Erdtree has multiple endings. These are based on the player’s choices throughout the game. According to the maker, the end of the DLC has no influence on the basic version of the game. Shadow of the Erdtree has an isolated story.
Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on June 21. In February of this year, developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco released the first trailer for the DLC. The DLC will be available for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
