The judge has banned the announced bus strike in Twente. Bus drivers from transport company Arriva planned to stop work on Monday.

Arriva had filed summary proceedings to prevent the strike. Arriva and the trade union FNV, which had announced the strike, therefore appeared before the subdistrict court in Utrecht on Friday afternoon.

After hearing the case, the judge gave Arriva and FNV the opportunity to reach an agreement between themselves. It soon turned out that this would not work, after which the judge ruled.

It was the second time that FNV announced a strike in Twente. Previously, bus drivers were expected to stop work on March 12.

That did not happen because the unions still reached an agreement on schedules with healthier working hours and measures to reduce the workload. Because according to the FNV these agreements have led nowhere, the new strike was announced for Monday.
