A zebra that escaped from a trailer at the end of April has been captured again after six days. The animal has been wandering around the Cascades, a mountain range in the American state of Washington, all this time.

Shug, as the zebra is called, escaped on April 28 from a trailer in which she was transported together with three brothers. The owner had stopped near Seattle to fix a problem with the trailer. All four animals escaped from the car.

The three brothers were captured again after a few hours, but Shug fled. The search for the zebra was intense and this led to hilarity on social media. Memes were made in which the animal appeared everywhere.

Nearly six days later, Shug was found by a group of locals and regional wildlife officials near the Cascades, a forested mountain range in Washington state. The zebra was in good condition, “despite her adventure of almost a week in the forest”, animal protection said.
