With the impending departure of coach Arne Slot, Feyenoord is looking for a replacement for the successful Zwolle resident. Giovanni van Bronckhorst is one of the names circulating in the media, but the former coach and player of the Rotterdam club has not heard anything yet. As a trainer, Van Bronckhorst won five prizes in four years at the stadium club, including the national title in 2017.

“Feyenoord is of course my club,” Van Bronckhorst told RTL 7. “Everyone knows that. Like everyone else, I have enjoyed the last few years. Of course, I have a history with the club. I have been there since I was seven. Then people should thinking of you soon,” said ‘Gio’.

At the moment there is nothing going on between Van Bronckhorst and Feyenoord. “No definitely not.” Also no phone call asking if the former coach is open to it. “No, I haven’t had to think about it yet, but I of course had a great time at Feyenoord. For four years as an assistant and then for four years as head coach. I have had many great moments and I cherish them,” continues Van Bronckhorst.

The fact that Slot is now leaving after a successful period is something you will think about as a trainer when Feyenoord comes knocking. “I don’t know if that makes it difficult, but those are things you think about. I was at Rangers as a player and then left as a manager in a way that I didn’t want. Those are things you obviously also think about. thinks, but it is a club of my heart.”

Jan Boskamp knows at least one thing for sure. “He is complaining, but if Feyenoord comes to him he will do it. I am 100% sure of that.”
