Borussia Dortmund has achieved a big victory over Augsburg in the German football competition. Four times had already been scored before halftime, ultimately the score was 5-1.

Dutch international Donyell Malen returned to the Dortmund starting line-up after a few weeks of injury and immediately scored. He made it 2-0 by getting in front of his man and heading in a cross. That was his eleventh competition goal.

For example, Dortmund, which is in a disappointing fifth place in the Bundesliga, had a good dress rehearsal for the return in the semi-finals of the Champions League. The Germans visit Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening and defend a 1-0 lead.

Bayern loses, Kane scores again

Bayern Munich suffered a defeat in the top match against number three VfB Stuttgart. The method was especially painful: ‘Der Rekordmeister’ was the inferior team and conceded no fewer than 24 shots, while only shooting ten times. Bayern eventually lost 3-1.

Stuttgart’s goals were scored by Leonidas Stergiou, Woo-Yeong Jeong and, just before the end, Silas.

At Bayern, the goalscorer was, as is often the case, Harry Kane. The Englishman scored his 36th Bundesliga goal of the season from the penalty spot.

Harry Kane

Only Robert Lewandowski and the legendary Gerd Müller have ever scored as many times in a Bundesliga season as Kane. The record is 41 goals in a year, set by Lewandowski in 2020/21. Kane still has two more games to boost his goal tally.

Bayern will also play in the semi-finals of the Champions League next week. They will visit Real Madrid on Wednesday evening, after the first leg ended 2-2.
