Real Madrid are champions of Spain. Title rival Barcelona lost 4-2 at Girona on Saturday evening the Royal with four rounds still to go, it is no longer possible to catch up in LaLiga. It means the 36th national title in club history for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid won 3-0 against Cádiz earlier in the day. Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s team had little to fear from the low-flyer in their own Santiago Bernabéu and ultimately won big, with goals from Brahim Díaz, Jude Bellingham and Joselu.

Barcelona could not afford to lose any points when they visited Girona. Xavi’s team, who still did not have access to the injured Frenkie de Jong, led 1-2 at half time thanks to goals from Andreas Christensen and Robert Lewandowski, but after the break things went completely wrong and they lost 4-2.
Daley Blind started at Girona in the starting line-up and stayed for ninety minutes. For Girona, the victory means that second place in the rankings is taken over from Barcelona and that the club qualifies for the Champions League for the first time in club history.
