Alonso white-hot: “He’s not Spaniard, so no punishment!”

--

The sprint race in Miami caused several drivers to be angry. Fernando Alonso wasn’t looking forward to it, and then he was tagged by Lewis Hamilton at the start. The Briton avoided punishment, and that caused a lot of anger among the previously punished Alonso.

Alonso was punished two weeks ago after a fierce duel in the Chinese sprint race. On the Shanghai circuit he competed with Carlos Sainz, and it was tough. Alonso suffered a flat tire, and according to the stewards that was his fault. In Miami, Alonso is still angry about that. He only got angrier when Lewis Hamilton, Lance Stroll and Lando Norris were not given penalties after an incident at the start.

Alonso fell far back due to this incident and his sprint race turned into a kind of test session. Alonso was furious and on Viaplay he responded to the fact that his competitors were not punished: “Lewis shot inside, without really having control of his car. Now we will see if the race management decides to intervene. They probably won’t We’re going to hand out a punishment, because he’s not Spaniard. Then it’s not a punishment. Now we’re going to focus on qualifying and tomorrow’s race.”
