Deliver us the moon was a really good game…

And you hit the nail on the head there, Deliver Us the Moon is from 2019. Deliver Us Mars is a game from (early) 2023…

Primarily game critics liked the first, users gave it more of a 6.5 (metacritic), the second scored lower on all fronts.

In addition, why should we not accept a buggy mess from an EA, but from a Dutch indie? Of course there will be people who think it’s fantastic, but such a score indicates that it is a relatively small niche.

Even if you only look at the reviews on Steam, the impression is somewhat better, but the number of reviews is relatively low and simply reflects the niche status of the games. If you compare it with, for example, The Outer Wilds, you will see a factor of x10 in reviews, which even received a Switch version at the end of last year… Then you see the difference between a ‘Meh!’ game and a game that has been well received by both game critics and gamers.

“If you make it and they will come!” is not a good way to run a business…
