Erik de Vlieger and Yves Gijrath have been with us since this week daily podcasting, instead of weekly. And yes, in their second broadcast they immediately had very explosive news. Because, say the two gentlemen, RIVM boss Jaap van Dissel has received 750,000 euros privately from the Open Netherlands Foundation. He would have transferred 400,000 euros of this to an account in Aruba. FVD member Gideon van Meijeren investigates the matter and concludes: “Van Dissel is corrupt to the core.”

Of course the media cartel does not want to investigate anything, because imagine that you say something negative about Jaap van Dissel. He was canonized in corona time. He would be everyone’s sweet father figure. An expert you can rely on. And so on.

Well, Gijrath and De Vlieger have dug deep. The two heard “first hand” that in 2020, at the start of the corona crisis, he did some interesting things with huge amounts of money.

The two podcasters have asked questions about this to Van Dissel himself, to asset managers, and to other involved parties. And although they do some things thought they couldn’t do much with it yet; they couldn’t get it done. And so they “let it rest.”

Until now. Because the two gentlemen have gotten their hands on more evidence. It is a document. A bank statement, to be exact. “We are 99 percent sure that it is correct,” says De Vlieger, “but not 100 percent. That is why we are still wary of whether it is true.”

99 percent sure. Only 1 percent possible doubt.

That, of course, is enough to bring it. Van Dissel is a public person, and if you come up with this kind of information now, you can dig deeper, not only by Gijrath and De Vlieger themselves, but also by others. De Vlieger calls it “a gift to everyone in the Dutch media.” Because if they start with the information Gijrath and he have, well, they’ll go a long way if they really want to investigate Van Dissel.

The scandal: 750,000 euros

“To my surprise, I recently received a bank statement that unequivocally shows that a payment has been made to Jaap van Dissel,” says Gijrath. He could ask Van Dissel for that bank statement himself, but has decided not to do that because Van Dissel had already proven that he did not want to cooperate at all. And no, Gijrath and De Vlieger will not let themselves be squeaked.

“We want this to stop,” Gijrath said. “We don’t want government officials to have a hatch.” In other words, they go public with this information because they think that Van Dissel and types like Ab Osterhaus keep saying things. because those things are in their private interest.

“We have had an investigation done,” Gijrath then says about the possible scandal here. Jaap van Dissel “is employed by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. He has a gross income of 13,256.18 euros per month. Based on 156 hours per month, that is almost a full working week.”

“He received a bonus of EUR 31,796.94 gross in December 2021. And he also has an employment contract at Leiden University Hospital, where he works 35 hours a month. So that means the man works 44 hours a week. ” At that hospital, Van Dissel receives 2,485.40 per month. And also a bonus in 2021 of 12,561.27 euros.”

These are amounts that Gijrath and De Vlieger consider “fine”. “The only thing that shocked us is the following…” That ‘next’ is about the Open Netherlands Foundation. That is an organization that became prominent when it was added “to steer the entire test policy in the Netherlands in the right direction.”

“What we have seen,” Gijrath continues, “is that a payment has been made from a Belgian bank – crazy shit – from the Open Netherlands Foundation to Jaap van Dissel from, hold on tight: the payment is 750,000 euros. That goes to an account from Rabobank. I have that number too, from that bank account number. And the same day, 400,000 euros will be transferred to Aruba.”

Just to be clear: Gijrath and De Vlieger say that the Open Netherlands Foundation has “paid” 750,000 euros to Jaap van Dissel… and that he then transferred 400,000 euros of that to a bank in Aruba.

De Vlieger says: “The first question I have is, why does the Open Netherlands Foundation have an account in Belgium? I think that’s weird. Secondly, how much? 750,000 euros to Jaap van Dissel, Rabobank account?”

Yes.

“We want to know,” says Gijrath, “why is Jaap van Dissel being paid by a Belgian account from Stichting Open Nederland?” Because, he says, “we see it’s authentic. This is very worrying.”

The Flyer asks Gijrath to be sure: “Could it be that we are being swindled?” The answer: “I do not think so. Then everything must be counterfeit, Erik.”

De Vlieger then repeats that this is a gift to the major media. “There is a Rabobank number on it, which should be very easy for you to find out,” he says rightly.

What is special is that a bank such as Rabobank has a “duty of care”. That couch really asks you what’s going on with a poo and a fart. But there were no questions for Sywert van Lienden, while it was all strange what happened… and now it seems that if Van Dissel just receives 750,000 euros from Belgium, he will not get any difficult questions about it. According to The Flyer. “Because that [bank] facilitates it,” says the podcaster.

Gideon van Meijeren (FVD): ‘Corrupt to the bone’

Forum for Democracy Member of Parliament Gideon van Meijeren also listened to the podcast broadcast… and https://twitter.com/GideonvMeijeren/status/1567426337425559552.

“It was already unequivocally demonstrated that Van Dissel is corrupt, because he let his employer influence OMT advice and tampered with minutes,” said the FVD officer.

“If the following is also true, it is not just corrupt, but corrupt to the core.”

It will come as no surprise that FVD is now also figuring this matter out. Parliamentary questions can of course be used for this.

A call from the editors: due to the corona crisis, the energy crisis, the inflation crisis and the purchasing power crisis, DDS is having a very difficult time. We want to keep everything readable for everyone for free, so that we depend on advertising for our income. But companies have financial concerns, so they don’t have much to worry about. We also notice the consequences of this. Hence our appeal to you, our readers: please support us! Through the reliable Dutch BackMe system you can donate monthly or once. Please do, and help DDS stay afloat!

It is indeed not the first time that Van Dissel has been accused of corruption. Van Meijeren already tackled Van Dissel in the House of Representatives itself. Because, said Van Meijeren, Van Dissel had clearly changed minutes and advice at the request of the Ministry; the same ministry that pays his salary.

Then we will now see whether ‘journalists’ of the media cartel accept the invitation of Gijrath and De Vlieger, and take a closer look at Van Dissel’s business and conduct. If it is not correct what Gijrath and De Vlieger say, then their broadcast must of course be sent in no time can be refuted. And if it’s true, well, that should be a very interesting story.

PS: of course we don’t know whether it is correct. Or not right. We only report on the concerns expressed by De Vlieger and Gijrath. But it is clear that it needs additional research. Will it eventually be refuted? Very good and important. Because you don’t want that kind of image as Van Dissel. But if it not disproved, but underlined, well, then we really have a very big banana republic problem in the Netherlands.
