Concert agenda Johan Cruijff Arena this summer exceptionally full

This summer, more artists will perform in the Johan Cruijff Arena than usual. In addition to Bruce Springsteen, it concerns Harry Styles, The Weeknd, Coldplay and Beyoncé. The Amsterdam Music Festival will also take place after the summer holidays.

After Ajax’s last home match, preparations for Bruce Springsteen’s two concerts began. The first is happening right now. Fans had already registered four days earlier to be able to stand at the front and the artist’s trucks are parked around the corner.

In De Telegraaf, Hidde Salverda, operational director of the Johan Cruijff Arena, talks about the concert summer. “The fact that we can now give fifteen concerts in a row is exceptional, but it still has to do with the lag effect of the corona pandemic. Artists were unable to perform for a long time and are now catching up, from which we and all music lovers benefit.”

He points out that the mega events also create a lot of work for stewards, security guards and catering staff. “Because make no mistake about what this does for the city. The economic spin-off is enormous. Many visitors make a few days of it and many entrepreneurs benefit from it.”

The big events don’t stop after the summer holidays. The Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF) will again take place in October. Yesterday it was announced which DJs will perform there. These include Armin van Buuren and Afrojack. They were there last year too.
