with videoThe weather will remain ‘exceptionally stable’ in our country in the coming weeks. According to Weerplaza, we should not expect any showers well into the first week of June. This ensures, among other things, a sunny Pentecost weekend, in which it is recommended to apply good lubrication.
Many places in the country will hit 20 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday. Locally it even warms up to 23 degrees. On the coast, where the North Sea will provide cooling for the time being, we have to make do with 17 to 19 degrees. Those are pretty normal temperatures for this time of year.
On Monday the northeast wind will turn a bit more to the north and it will blow a bit harder, bringing cold air from Scandinavia to our side. That makes it a few degrees cooler. Then only the southeast of the country will exceed 20 degrees.
Although cumulus clouds will certainly pass over, we can expect a lot of sun. Weerplaza warns of the high sun power. The UV index is 7, which means that skin that has not been moisturized can burn within 20 to 25 minutes. Especially in the cooler areas along the coast, the sun can burn treacherously hard. The sun is at its brightest around 1:30 PM.
Rain stays far away
What is striking, according to the weather service, is that we don’t have to worry about a wet suit for the time being. A high-pressure area stretching from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to southern Scandinavia keeps showers hundreds of kilometers away. “This could continue well into the first week of June,” say meteorologists.
This also causes the groundwater level to drop quickly. But according to Weerplaza, we don’t have to worry about that for the time being. That is normal in the next two months. In addition, it has been so wet this spring that the water is still very high. If the plants get some water now and then, they will enjoy the stable and dry weather.
