Third and (for now) last Van Groningse Bodem session with Simona, Ylvalie and Dan and the Middle Men – Groningen

Time flies when having fun… Next week on June 2nd it will be time for the third, and for now the last, Van Groningse Bodem session. On this evening we go out with a bang for summer. We have put together a varied program with Simona, Ylvalie and Dan and The Middle Men for you. And that’s not all. POPgroningen is organizing their Grunn Music Vrijmibo for the Groningen scene for our session. If you are a maker, organizer or involved in the music scene in any way, you can mix and mingle with like-minded people here!

We then go wild as usual at 20:30 with the first act. Simona combines R&B with catchy pop melodies in her music. She is currently re-forming her band, but she can also give a show on her own. It is the first performance since her album Purple Clouds came out this month. We are very curious how these songs will sound live!

Then we continue with YLVALIE. Last month she presented her debut album in EM2, but this singer songwriter has been around for a while. She has now gathered a strong band around her and built up an exciting live act. Her music is emotional and melancholic, but manages to combine this in a surprising way with soul and blues influences. So not everyday food.

Finally, we close the evening with a nice dose of rock music. Dan and the Middle Men released their single last year The Haze surprisingly high in our end-of-year list The Best Of Groningen Soil. In recent times they have invested heavily in building up a formidable live reputation. They were already at Graspop earlier this month. We are very curious what they will leave on June 2nd from the cellar in Friday.
