An accident occurred on the A59 near Elshout on Saturday evening in the direction of Waalwijk involving a truck and a car. The road is littered with frozen chicken legs. According to a bystander, at least three people were injured. The police arrested the two occupants of the car. The road towards Waalwijk is closed and needs to be repaired. The road will probably not be reopened until Sunday morning at seven o’clock.

According to witnesses, the car, a Range Rover, overtook the truck on the hard shoulder at very high speed. The car then crashed. There were two people in the car who were injured. Both people have been arrested. According to the police, there are ‘criminal items’ in the car. She doesn’t want to say more about it yet.

The truck was also hit and subsequently collided with the guardrail. As a result, the truck overturned and lost the frozen load of chicken legs. The driver and his wife were in the truck. The woman was taken to hospital with injuries.

The accident happened around half past seven.

Traffic in the opposite direction from Den Bosch is guided over the emergency lane.
