Alleged ‘murder broker’ Jordi van der S. (24), who is suspected by the judiciary of directing the attempted liquidation of Dutch criminal Cor P. in the Dominican Republic, is also suspected of seriously assaulting and threatening an employee of the Arnhem Penitentiary, in September 2022.

Penalties

On Monday, the Public Prosecution Service demanded 14, 15, 16 and 21 years in prison for four men who were allegedly involved in the attempted liquidation of Cor “De Paling” P. on January 4, 2022 in the Dominican Republic. The Public Prosecution Service is demanding the highest sentence of 21 years against Jordi van der S. from Amersfoort. The Public Prosecution Service is demanding 15 years in prison against the alleged shooter, 21-year-old Damian B. from Lelystad.

Isah B., who drove the motor scooter during the attempted murder of Cor P., will have to spend 14 years in prison if the justice system has its way. Alleged spotter Francis SB (23), the half-brother of Jordi van der S., was sentenced to 16 years in prison. He is said to have traced and observed P. in the Dominican Republic.

Headbutt

Van der S. is also suspected by the judiciary of the serious assault and death threat against a prison guard at the Arnhem Penitentiary on September 8, 2022. The PI employee was headbutted and threatened several times with texts such as: ‘I’ll have you caught. , now there are enough people, but outside you are alone’. Van der S. is also said to have said: ‘I’m going to catch that cancer monger’ and ‘I’m going to cut off his head and send it to his family. I’ll still get you. I’ll remember you’.

Brothers

Francis SB is suspected of having traveled to the Dominican Republic at the end of 2021 to track down Cor P.. He says that he never realized that P. had to be liquidated. Justice believes that Van der S. managed him from the Netherlands and was therefore in constant contact with him. Van der S. denies any involvement in the attack. He says he has been concerned about his brother.

Silenced

The suspects also deny the suggestion made by the Public Prosecution Service that Ridouan Taghi’s group had initiated the assassination attempt. Anonymous information has been received by the police that Van der S. is said to have worked for Jaouad F., a cousin of Taghi who is serving a prison sentence in Morocco. The suspects have remained silent about anyone other than themselves.

Weapon discovery and aggravated assault

Van der S. was previously convicted for involvement in a major weapons discovery in Alphen aan den Rijn and for serious assault that, according to the Public Prosecution Service, was ordered by Jaouad F. and another cousin of Ridouan Taghi.

A co-suspect in that case was Krystian M. against whom the Public Prosecution Service demanded a life sentence in January for (co-)perpetrating the murder of Peter R. de Vries in 2021 in Amsterdam.

Jordi van der S. is seen as the ‘broker’ who accepted the assignment and managed the perpetrators of the attack on Cor P..
