The film Anaconda is not the best film, but it is one of those films that is quite well received. What a movie if Jaws did for the coast did Anaconda for boat trips through the jungle. And yes, the novice Jennifer Lopez makes it quite difficult for the big amazon snake too.

The 1997 action film came from director Luis Llosa, who at the time was known for films like The Specialist and sniper. In addition to Lopez, there were also roles for famous names such as Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz, Danny Trejo, Jonathan Hyde and Owen Wilson.

With a then huge budget of $45 million, it raised a very reasonable $136.8 million worldwide, after a dubious reception: 40 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Anaconda’s pulpy amusements are limited by his own absurdity, but fans of creatures will surely revel in his immense folly,” is the critics consensus.
