Metallica’s performance at Frauenfield Rocks in Switzerland is canceled tonight (June 29). The festival has just announced this. The reason is a covid infection within the ‘Metallica family’. Metallica is the big Friday headliner of Rock Werchter 2022 in two days.
At the moment there is no official information about the show at Rock Werchter 2022 and the concert is still planned. More information is expected in the coming hours.
In a statement, the band responds:
“It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that unfortunately we cannot perform in Frauenfeld because a member of the Metallica family tested positive for Covid despite the strictest hygiene measures. We regret beyond all measure to have to disappoint our fans.”
On Frauenfeld Rocks Metallica is replaced by Five Finger Death Punch, who were supposed to perform before Metallica today. The timetable has been adjusted, no additional bands will be added. Ticket holders can choose to request their money back, or decide to come for a discount of 50 euros. A ticket was originally about 140 euros.
Speculations about possible scenarios at Rock Werchter 2022 are now in full swing at the Rock Werchter Forum of Festileaks.
