If you are going on holiday from Eindhoven Airport this morning, you should take into account a longer waiting time. There is again a long queue of people waiting at Eindhoven Airport this morning. People also miss their flight because of the crowds.

The airport says on its website that it is busy: “So come 2.5 hours to 3 hours before your trip to the airport, not earlier.”

Yet it seems that many travelers do not respond to this on Saturday morning. “We see that people are coming to the airport too early, just like in recent days. There are people queuing up who don’t have to catch their flight until four in the afternoon,” a spokesperson said. Many flights from Eindhoven airport are therefore delayed.

The spokesperson also says that Eindhoven Airport is doing everything it can to ensure that everyone simply makes their flight, by removing them from the long queue. “We also emphasize today: do not come too early and prepare yourself well with the tips on our website,” says the spokesperson.

Three times in a row
Friday morning there was also a long queue at Eindhoven Airport. The spokesperson for Eindhoven Airport then indicated that there was a shortage of security personnel, as a result of which there was a longer line than usual at the airport.

But that, she said, was not the cause of the long queue at the airport. The reason for the long queue on Friday was that travelers arrived much too early. “We advise travelers to be present 2.5 to 3 hours in advance. But we now saw that there are people who came 4 or 5 hours in advance. That is not convenient, they are then in line much too early.”

‘Airport nightmare’
And with that, there are long queues at Eindhoven Airport for three days in a row. A thunderstorm warning caused enormous crowds at Eindhoven Airport on Thursday evening. For example, someone had to wait four hours for the suitcases and other travelers reported that they had to stay in the aircraft for an extremely long time after landing. Still, those waiting times were inevitable, according to the airport. “In the event of a thunderstorm, everything is shut down.”

Photos of the long queue on Saturday morning are shared via social media. It is also called an ‘airport nightmare’.
