The transformation of Sleeping Beauty into Efteling has not gone unnoticed by amusement park visitors. The fairy tale character’s breasts have been enlarged. The Efteling leaves it to it Brabants Dagblad know that it is not an April Fool’s joke.
Sleeping Beauty could not be admired in the Fairytale Forest of the amusement park for several months, because she was undergoing a makeover. Her hair is longer and the curtain at her ‘resting place’ has changed. Visitors can’t stop talking about her changed cup size.
“It is indeed true that the breasts have become slightly larger. We just did not expect it to be so noticeable,” a spokesperson for Efteling responded to the newspaper. Brabants Dagblad. According to Efteling, the aim of the renovation was to make Sleeping Beauty look more like an original drawing by Anton Pieck. “With this new cup size, it should look more like the sketch he once made.”
The spokesperson understands that the change concerns visitors. “People are quite surprised. We did not intend for it to be so noticeable. But when I put the photos side by side, I do indeed see a big difference.”
The change will not be reversed. “We understand the confusion and it is also quite comical, although it was not intended that way. But it is really not an April Fool’s joke.”
