There was a robbery at the Tefaf art fair in Maastricht. The stock market is being vacated, police said. At least three robbers entered the event hall MECC on the exhibition floor, where one of them started to smash into a display case with a sledgehammer.
Eyewitnesses say one of the other men had a weapon with him, which he used to keep people at a distance. The display cases are said to have contained diamonds from a London jeweler. A video shows the robbers putting something in a bag and then running away.
They fled. The police are looking for them and are investigating the art fair.
