The man filmed the shooting incident with his phone on Saturday evening. He heard a noise (“for the umpteenth time”) from the cafe on the corner and decided to record it. He saw, for example, that the later shooter was already holding the weapon behind his back when he got involved in an altercation with the group of men. Just before that, he’d taken it out of his car.

The videographer was startled blankly when the young man started shooting at the group of men. The images, which are now widely shared on social media, show how one of the victims collapses. He then stopped filming and alerted the emergency services. Moments later, he handed over the images to officers at the scene. He also sent it to his brother, with the emphatic remark not to distribute it further.
