The police have again arrested a pickpocket in the center of Utrecht after he robbed someone of his mobile phone. When arrested, the perpetrator was found to have three phones in his pocket.

It is the umpteenth arrest of a pickpocket in the center of Utrecht, the police said. “We have lost count by now, we feel.”

The perpetrator managed to loot someone’s mobile phone on the platform of Utrecht Central Station. According to the police, he did so by hooking the victim.

Three phones

When the victim missed his phone, he called 911 using a bystander’s phone. With his description, the police were able to track down the perpetrator in Hoog Catharijne. He was arrested there.

During the search, the perpetrator was found to have three telephones with him. One of them was reported as stolen by someone from Groningen. The two other phones are also believed to have been stolen, police wrote on Instagram.
