“It is by no means excluded that even more local stadium bans will be imposed. Apart from this decision from the club, the criminal investigation by the authorities is still in full swing,” said the Alkmaar club.
Well-intentioned supporters
“In addition, the competition organization for next Sunday is being discussed with the relevant authorities, which is, as always, tailor-made. The starting point here is that the many thousands of well-intentioned AZ supporters must be able to experience a pleasant match visit.”
AZ will take on PSV in the last round of the Eredivisie on Sunday.
Earlier this week, the municipality, AZ, the police and the Public Prosecution Service (OM) held talks about the riots. AZ supporters attacked fans of the British West Ham United after the lost match in the Alkmaar stadium. A group of supporters tried to storm the main stand after breaking a fence. Most fans wore hoods.
Four more people wanted
On Tuesday evening, the TV program Opsporing Verzoeken paid attention to the disturbances. The broadcast showed photos of the ten men suspected of the most serious crimes. Four of those ten suspects are now being sought, a police spokesperson said on Thursday.
Dozens of tips have been received by the police after the broadcast of Opsporing Verzoeken. He is investigating all tips and is busy, among other things, viewing camera images, according to the spokesperson.
