Thuto Mojanaga has signed his first professional contract with Feyenoord. The 15-year-old midfielder of Feyenoord Academy signed an agreement at Varkenoord on Tuesday afternoon that links him to Feyenoord until mid-2025.

15-year-old Mojanaga, who has both Dutch and South African nationality, started his football career with Supersport United FC in his native South Africa. At the club from the capital Pretoria, he played in the youth academy until 2018. At the age of twelve he made the switch to the Netherlands and became a youth player at PEC Zwolle. Since last summer, the midfielder can call himself Feyenoord and he plays his matches in Under 16.

The youth international of the Netherlands is proud that he has been able to sign his first professional contract with Feyenoord. ‘It is very nice that my family could be present at this signing. My brother is a big fan of the club and walks around in his Feyenoord shirt all day. I think I can learn a lot from my trainers Brian Pinas and Robin van Persie this season. It’s great that, with all their experience in professional football, they are my trainers.’

‘Thuto is a controlling midfielder with game-defining qualities, says Rini Coolen, Head of Academy at Feyenoord. He also has great running ability and a lot of duel power. Despite the fact that he has only been a player at Feyenoord for a few months, he has already adapted very quickly at the club. He is busy all day to get the most out of himself, something we would of course like to see at Feyenoord.’
