INEOS Grenadiers was the leading team in the rounds for many years, but the British formation has since been overtaken by several teams and failed to win a Grand Tour this year – for the first time since 2014. This remains according to The last news not without consequences. At INEOS Grenadiers, the broom would go through the management.

The formation says goodbye to three loyal team leaders: Servais Knaven, Gabriel Rasch and Brett Lancaster. Knaven has been associated with the British team as sports director since 2011, Rasch started working as sports director in 2014 and Lancaster has been part of the sporting leadership since 2016.

INEOS Grenadiers is also said to have signed two replacements with Davide Bramati and Ian Stannard. The latter came as a rider for years for the British star formation. Bramati’s arrival is remarkable, as the now 54-year-old Italian has been employed by Quick-Step-Alpha Vinyl for about 25 years: first as a rider and since 2006 as a team leader.

INEOS owner Jim Ratcliffe is also reportedly desperate for a potential Tour winner who can deliver immediate success, given the loss of lap riders Adam Yates and Richard Carapaz and Egan Bernal’s physical problems. The British top team would currently investigate all possibilities to immediately take over world champion Remco Evenepoel from Quick-Step-Alpha Vinyl, but Patrick Lefevere referred this to the realm of fables today.
