Varsseveld – Two passenger cars were seriously damaged after an accident on the Oostelijke Rondweg in Varsseveld on Saturday morning. There were no injuries, but one driver had to be taken to the police station because it was suspected that he still had some alcohol in his blood. After a check at the office it turned out that this was not the case.

The accident happened due to an unknown cause. Emergency services rushed to the scene after the accident. The ambulance crew checked one of the drivers, but no one had to be taken to the hospital.

Officers took a breath test from both drivers. To collide is to blow, according to the police; one of the drivers appeared to have had a party on Friday evening and had some drinks there. The man appeared to still have some so-called residual alcohol. The man had to be taken to the police station where a more specific alcohol test was taken from the man. As mentioned, this turned out to be negative.

Both vehicles were towed by a recovery company.
