HOORN – After a successful Record Store Day on April 20, Uptown Records is setting up again business as usual.

This means, among other things: live music in the store on average once a month. On Saturday, June 1, The Lasses will be in the record store and on Sunday, August 25 (during the Hoorn record fair) Loes Fabiënne will be making an appearance. But first, on Saturday, May 11, it is the turn of the band Searching Valentine, with an energetic mix of Brit and alternative rock. Their debut EP will be released the day before. Starts at 3 p.m., entrance is free as always.

The four men of Searching Valentine (Andijk) have been playing together since 2018 and the long shared youth can be heard in their repertoire. They spent the first few years mainly in the rehearsal room. But after a lot of writing, discovering and experimenting, the time has now come to go outside. Their debut EP ’27 Forever’ will be released online on May 10: a collection of tracks about teenage anxiety, rebellious youth and growing up, with stories about growing older, parties, love and the question of whether everything is going well in this world. All this under energetic guitar riffs and, above all, melodic lyrics. So come and listen and while you’re at it, browse through the record bins – who knows, you might find that one gem you’ve been looking for today!

Stage

Uptown Records regularly organizes (semi-)acoustic performances in the store, because they would like to give artists the opportunity to promote an upcoming performance or an album, for example. Artists who are interested in this can contact [email protected] or call 06-53895316.
