Do you have a subscription to Netflix and/or HBO Max? The streaming services announce shortly after each other that they will increase the prices of subscriptions. You can read what this means for your subscription and how much you will pay in this article.

Netflix

We’ll start with Netflix. The streaming service has immediately increased subscription prices in the Netherlands and Belgium. The price increase is 1 to 3 euros per month, depending on the type of subscription.

  • It basic subscription costs from now on 8.99 euros per month instead of 7.99 euros
  • It standard subscription costs from now on 13.99 euros per month instead of 11.99 euros
  • A premium subscription costs from now on 18.99 euros per month instead of 15.99 euros
HBO Max

HBO Max is also increasing prices and introducing an additional subscription option. That will be a cheap ‘basic’ variant with advertising. However, the service as a whole will receive more video material. With the regular subscriptions you get all content from HBO Max and Discovery Plus. Anyone who also wants to watch sports pays 5 euros extra per month.

The prices are as follows:

  • The new) basic subscription with advertising costs 5.99 euros per month
  • It standard subscription costs from now on 9.99 euros per month instead of 7.99 euros
  • A premium subscription costs 13.99 euros per month

Have you taken out a subscription with a lifetime discount in the past? Then you keep this 50 percent discount. From now on you pay for a standard subscription 4.99 euros instead of 9.99 euros.
