It’s Keukenhof’s birthday! This is celebrated with a beautiful concert among the blooming tulips. The presentation is in the hands of Dionne Stax. The Metropole Orchestra provides the music and on stage are Jeangu Macrooy, Emma Heesters, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Ruben Hein and Shirma Rouse. They take the viewer on a journey through 75 years of international music history.
Anniversary concert
This spring, the Keukenhof Estate is the magical setting for a special anniversary concert. It is exactly 75 years ago that the flower exhibition opened to the public. This will be celebrated with a journey through 75 years of international music history. The concert is conducted by the Metropole Orchestra conducted by Sam Gale and on stage are Jeangu Macrooy, Emma Heesters as well as Trijntje Oosterhuis, Ruben Hein and Shirma Rouse. From popular hits to fantastic soul, funk and disco; everything passes.
The opening song of the concert is the well-known one Don’t Be Cruel by Elvis Presley. Ruben Hein sings, among other things Fly Me To The Moon and Let It Be. Jeangu Macrooy also produces, among others Happy and Is this all? in hearing. Trijntje Oosterhuis also performs with songs such as Little boy and Someone Like You. Shirma Rouse voices Valerie and Respect and finally, Emma Heesters puts her own spin on things, for example Euphoria and I Will Always Love You.
About Keukenhof
Keukenhof flower exhibition of 32 hectares is located in the middle of the flowering bulb region. Every year the park is redesigned and 40 gardeners plant 7 million flower bulbs in the park. 1,600 varieties of bulbous plants are used for this, including around 800 varieties of tulips.
