3 actresses perform 10 monologues per evening with stories about the struggles, taboos and sharp edges of motherhood. The things you think, but don’t dare to say out loud. That you love your child, but not being a mother. That you hoped that your child would be different than it is, that it makes you insecure or very angry. But you don’t say that because you’re afraid of being the only one.
It is often assumed that a ‘real’ woman is also a mother. Women are said to have a ‘maternal instinct’ that tells them they want children and how to care for those children, but is that true? An evening where we can talk about this – fortunately with a lot of humor. You’re not crazy, you’re not alone, you’re human. And being a mother, or becoming a mother, or perhaps never becoming a mother, is not just something.
