Four Africans arrested with drugs in hotel in Albina

The Surinamese police today arrested these four men during a raid on a hotel known as Mooi Taki in the center of Albina. According to the Suriname Police Force, these are four Africans.

For some time the police have been busy mapping criminal activities in the east. The Regional Commander Commissioner Melvin Pinas and his team have been active in the past period, successfully completing a ten-hour operation on Friday 30 December.

Police spokesman Milton Bishop said that Albina police officers led by an assistant officer just raided the above hotel. During the raid, the police encountered 13 kilograms of drugs, presumably cocaine in bulbs (photo), as well as amounts of money in Surinamese and currency.

The drugs and money were seized and transferred to the police station together with the suspects. The suspects will be arraigned. The operation is still ongoing, the spokesman said.
