Twenty disgruntled Norwegian Tesla owners, who went on hunger strike because of defects in their electric cars, have already stopped their protest within 24 hours.
The Norwegian group began their hunger strike shortly before Tesla chief executive Elon Musk arrived in Oslo for an energy conference. Tesla owners demanded action after finding a series of faults in their vehicles that had not been properly resolved. Some owners report experiencing poor customer service and others claim they never get a call back when they are promised.
‘Many problems with Teslas’
Many of the owners’ complaints are not exactly new. Some of the issues noted include poor paint quality, rust, failing heat pumps, door handles stuck in the cold and yellowing infotainment screens. Problems with the car’s lighting, deformed seats, water accumulation in the trunk, loose trim and reduced power are also among the complaints.
Apart from the defects in the cars, the protest was mainly about the company’s customer service. Owners say they are on hold for an excessive amount of time before they can actually talk to anyone from Tesla and that they never get a call back, although they are promised. The Norwegian owners believed that if they could bring the matter to the attention of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, everything would be resolved.
