Comedian Freek de Jonge has decided to postpone his performances in the autumn. This has to do with the publication of his upcoming book The Zeeland years.
“I have the planned tour of the theaters this fall on hold put,” 79-year-old De Jonge wrote on Friday https://twitter.com/freekjonge/status/1786389064242876493.
De Jonge previously announced that he would go on tour again at the end of 2024. These performances would be dedicated to his eightieth birthday. The comedian already performed a number of try-outs in April to develop the full-length performance. He had not yet announced a playlist.
The Zeeland years is the third part in a series of autobiographical novels by De Jonge. The comedian says that he wants to be able to enjoy that release and “don’t want to feel pressure for once”.
The book follows his experiences from the autumn of 1962 to the summer of 1969. The book presentation is on June 20 in Stadsschouwburg Haarlem.
