On Sunday, May 5, there will be plenty of activities to enjoy during the MEK open day on the Veerseweg between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy during the open day at the Environmental Educational Center (MEK) on the Veerseweg. Discover how the animals are fed, enjoy cuddly moments with rabbits and guinea pigs, and take a relaxing walk with the donkeys. There will be an exciting treasure hunt for the children throughout the day.

New bee colony

In the morning, an experienced beekeeper is ready to explain the new bee colony that has moved into the MEK grounds. Later in the day you can admire the ponies while they are trained by the enthusiastic students of Naturalhorsemo. Delicious pancakes and muffins are sold to provide some extra support, as the MEK depends on subsidies, donations and sponsors.

Opening of chicken enclosure

The handy handymen from the MEK have been working in recent months on a brand new chicken enclosure, which will be festively opened on May 5. Are you curious about the chickens’ reaction to their new home? Then take a look during the MEK open day on Sunday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You will find the MEK on the Veerseweg.
