For our growing design agency in Rotterdam we are looking for an architect with relevant experience in architectural and urban development projects. We are looking for someone with strong conceptual design skills and knowledge of and experience with design processes in the Netherlands.
Studio for New Realities is convinced that there must be a better way to organize our living environment. We see the need for an ‘upgrade’ to a living environment that is more humane, healthier and more responsible. As strategic designers, we play a role as urban designer and architect, but also as programmer and ‘spin doctor’. Visions on the one hand and real building on the other. For us, design equals action – and every intervention must add value. That is why our visions, strategies and designs are always a combination of physical form (hardware), program and use (software), and the way in which these are organized (orgware).
The studio consists of approximately 10 people. We work on large-scale and small-scale projects: urban planning, living and working environments, architecture, and housing and program concepts. The team consists of specialists with diverse backgrounds, from urban planning, architecture and design research to strategic design for sustainability, program and community. This diversity means that every assignment is approached from different perspectives and we work on integrated plans with real impact. Furthermore, everyone contributes to a pleasant workplace; both in terms of content and team spirit.
What we are looking for:
- First of all, you are a strong conceptual and creative designer
- You take initiative, can work independently, have a critical eye and are flexible
- You work in a structured way and oversee components in context
- You have at least 5 years of work experience, more experience is an advantage
- A completed education at the TU or Academy of Architecture in architecture or urban planning.
- Experience in various phases in architecture and familiar with Dutch regulations
- Fluency in spoken and written Dutch is an advantage
- Strong graphics skills in the Adobe Creative Cloud
- Experience with Archicad, Vectorworks, Rhinoceros and Enscape is an advantage
- Experience with urban development/master planning is an advantage
