Five years ago, the Porsche Taycan caused a shock among brand fans. But he turned out to be shockingly good because of his high numbers. From now on he can do everything in a superlative degree.

It was a bit of a shock for many when this electric Porsche was introduced at the end of 2019. The sacred sports car brand provoked its worshippers, but apparently they quickly got used to it. Since then, almost 150,000 units have been produced in Zuffenhausen.

New Porsche Taycan

Most development money has been spent on electrical engineering with batteries that have a net capacity of 82.3 kWh or 97 kWh. Both NMC batteries are roughly 10 kWh larger than before and also have a higher energy density. The large battery is standard on some variants, while on others it is an option costing roughly 6,000 euros under the name Performance Battery Plus. Now that we’re talking about finances: the Porsche Taycan has become between 6,000 and 10,000 euros more expensive, depending on the version.

Off-roading with a front-wheel drive: Jeep Avenger e-Hybrid

Prices start at 107,000 euros for the 408 hp rear-wheel drive version, followed by the 4S with 544 hp and 126,800 euros, the Turbo with 884 hp for 183,000 euros, the Turbo S with 952 hp for 219,000 euros and the Turbo GT with 1108 hp. for 250,000 euros. All significantly stronger than before, up to 190 hp more. The Turbo GT is also available (at no extra cost!) with a Weissach package, a track version including a stripped interior and large rear wing. Records have already been set on the Nordschleife and Laguna Seca with this prestige model.

Lots of figures and facts in this update, but how does the new Porsche Taycan feel? In any case, familiar on the inside, despite new layouts for the instruments, including information about the current charging speed. The multimedia system has a relatively compact screen by today’s standards with the main themes on the left. The underlying menus are quite simple in design and therefore easy to understand. There is also an excellent, low driving position at the wheel with excellent seats. The back is not very spacious for the sedan size, but with 1.80 meters you are fine.

Very broad delivery program. With the right options, an insanely competent sports sedan and an unparalleled GT. This applies to both the basic version and the insane Turbo GT with Weissach package. But the top versions are by no means necessary for the Porsche feeling.
