Pieter Omtzigt’s NSC is increasingly coming out of the closet. There was already cooperation with Wilders – at least there have been talks for almost six months with the party that Pieter vehemently rejected before November 22. There was aversion to transgender people, but today NSC also presents itself as the Defenders of King’s Day and the Tompouce. No one had noticed yet that Europe is threatening the Tompouce, but Pieter sees through them, the rascals in Brussels.
NSC posted this triumphant message on X today:

The housing crisis, the poverty crisis, the war crisis, the Groningen crisis, it has all not yet been solved by the four forming parties. But thanks to NSC the Toppouce is safe,
Not everyone understands the post. Not so much because of the language errors, but because of the statement.
The clearest response comes from Caroline de Gruyter, NRC’s Europe specialist
This is nonsense at best and political nonsense at worst. Money from (meager) European culture funds actually supports national heritage and regional/national cultural traditions. Example: the restoration of Dutch mills and Fort Crèvecoeur in Den Bosch
Former editor-in-chief Hans Laroes is grateful to Pieter for his vigilance:
Did you know that ‘Brussels’ wants to replace the orange tom pouce with one with rainbow colors? I didn’t know that either, but @omtzigt found out and now he wants to restrict Europe.
Because there will be a ban on the orange tompouce and the free market? How to make a problem out of nothing……….
