The Spinoza20first secondary school in East Amsterdam will also remain closed tomorrow. Today, the doors of the school remained closed after a shooting threat was made on Snapchat. According to the rector of the school, there is still a threat. According to him, the police investigation has so far yielded insufficient results.
Threat on Snapchat
“Spinoza shooting tomorrow?? Watch out for people on spinoza20first!! Between 1pm and 2pm,” a Snapchat message posted Tuesday night.
Rector Jan Paul Beekman said earlier today in the NPO Radio 1 program Speech makers that it is not clear from whom the threat comes.
According to him, there was not enough information about the origin of the threat and he therefore closed the school. This afternoon there was a new meeting between the school and the police. It has been decided that the school will also remain closed tomorrow.
“What is hopeful is that the police sees reason enough to continue the investigation,” the rector told ANP news agency. Tomorrow we will look again at whether the school can open again.
Exams moved and online class
The exams that were to be held today in the school have been moved to another location. That will happen again tomorrow. Students will also receive online lessons, just like they received in corona times.
