In addition to the festive opening, there is an information market where you can learn all about saving money, health and energy. There is a pleasant Indonesian market with tasty snacks and music. There are fun activities for children. And the prize winners of the retailers’ association’s puzzle magazine will also be announced.

Participate in Nieuwegein
The municipality of Nieuwegein wants everyone to be able to continue to participate in our city. That is why we will inform you about the various options during the information market together with social partners. At the information market, residents can get information about activities with the City Pass, help with income and expenses, saving on your energy bill, fun activities in your neighborhood and schemes to which you are entitled.

Renewal of Muntplein
The reason for this festive afternoon is the renewed redesign of Muntplein. The Muntplein was the first to be tackled in the Muntenbuurt with Better Neighborhoods. Residents and entrepreneurs were able to contribute ideas about the new design. As a result, Muntplein has become much greener. The planting areas consist of new trees and there is almost 450 m2 of flowering plants. The raised edge offers plenty of seating. A water storage has been created under the square to absorb heavy rain showers. Children can play on the climbing tree.

The Muntplein Festival is organized in collaboration with the Muntplein Shopping Center, Better Neighborhoods, social partners and the municipality of Nieuwegein.
