The stock was worth $48.66 at the close of trading after a 21.5 percent decline, down from the $49.95 at which it debuted. With the IPO, Trump is trying to raise billions to pay his high legal costs for various lawsuits. The Republican presidential candidate owns 57 percent of the shares, but due to previous agreements he can only convert those shares into money in six months.

In the meantime, Trump is trying to raise money with all kinds of other activities. Earlier this year, for example, he sold gold sneakers for $399 per pair. And last week he started under the slogan Make America Pray Again a business in Bibles. Even before he entered politics, businessman Trump traded in everything from Trump steaks to Trump vodka.

According to various American media, Trump paid a bail of 175 million dollars (more than 163 million euros) on Monday to prevent the New York State authorities from seizing his assets. The court ordered him to pay almost half a billion dollars in a fraud judgment, but he has appealed.
