REGION – Since Thursday April 18, the SIG Foundation can once again call itself the Best Employer in disability care in the Netherlands. The selection is based on surveys among employees of various disability care organizations in the country, conducted independently and anonymously by research agency Effectory. In the survey, employees were asked to rate various aspects of their organization’s employer practices. With an average score of 8.3, the SIG is the best employer nationally. A title that the SIG was also allowed to use in 2018 and 2022.

The selection is based on surveys among employees of various disability care organizations in the country, conducted independently and anonymously by research agency Effectory. In the survey, employees were asked to rate various aspects of their organization’s employer practices. With an average score of 8.3, the SIG is the best employer nationally. The SIG offers guidance and support in all areas of life (living, working/daytime activities, welfare) to people with an intellectual disability and/or autism spectrum disorder. The catchment area extends from Heemstede/Haarlem/Velsen to Castricum/Heiloo. The organization has approximately 400 employees, 200 volunteers and 950 clients.

Research agency Effectory announced the election of the best employers 2024-2025 from various sectors last Thursday during a festive program in Amsterdam. Cluster manager Astrid Reulen of the SIG, asked during the event about the ‘secret’ behind the SIG’s high scores for years: “Keep it simple and ensure that employees can do what they are good at. Don’t tire them with complicated policy plans.” Reulen also mentions the importance of connection, being known and recognized, short lines of communication and continuing to put clients first.
