MAX collaborates with regional broadcasters on various themes. Every Monday a new topic is covered by regional reporters. Below is an overview of the episodes in June.
In Expedition Netherlands reporters from the regional broadcasters report on topics that affect us all, but that provide their own story for each province. Various topics are discussed; from history and culture to current issues and care. Perspectives from fourteen different broadcasters provide a complete picture of the Netherlands as a whole, including the Caribbean Network. What are the differences and similarities between the regions on these themes? How do these differences and similarities shape the Netherlands?
Episode 36 – Monday, June 3, 6:30 PM at MAX on NPO 2
Our country has concerns that are extremely important in a certain region and are not an issue at all in another part of the Netherlands. For example, some residents in Cuijk, North Brabant, wake up every day to an extreme stench. This comes from the nearby pig and poultry farms. And in the Zeeland region, flooding remains a constant threat.
Episode 37 – Monday June 10, 6:30 PM at MAX on NPO 2
These artists feel a deep love for their own region. They are inspired by the big city, culture or nature in their province. The artists of Kings of Colors bring joy to communities with their graffiti on Brabant walls. And Derek Otte gets his inspiration for ‘spoken word’ from his city: Rotterdam.

Many villages and small communities have their own mysteries. Haunted places, sunken ships or a hundred-year-old letter that has never been opened. Is there really gold hidden in the glittering sand of the Sallandse Heuvelrug? In the last century, two gold diggers were convinced of their find.

We almost automatically assume that inventions that change the world come from world cities like New York or Beijing. We don’t immediately think about our own country and certainly not about places like Enschede or Emmen.
