With summer approaching, we are getting ready to plan a fun holiday. You don’t have to leave the country for a nice few days away! These are the most beautiful places for a holiday in your own country.

Giethoorn

The Overijssel village of Giethoorn has been a real attraction for foreign tourists for decades. Understandable, because Giethoorn is truly beautiful. It is not without reason that it is called the Venice of the Netherlands. A boat trip in Giethoorn, for example with koppers-giethoorn.nl, is therefore a real must. Enjoy a beautiful environment where culture and nature come together beautifully.

The Veluwe

For the nature lovers among us, the Veluwe is the place to be in the Netherlands. This is the largest contiguous nature reserve in the Netherlands, where you can enjoy walking, cycling and bird watching. The Veluwe is known for its extensive heathland, sand drifts, sheep herds and interesting flora. You can rent nice houses in several places near the Veluwe for a wonderful week away.

Deventer

Deventer is not very well known as a city. A shame, because it is really beautiful! The city itself is not very big, you can get through it in a day, but the area surrounding Deventer is also worth a visit, so a campsite nearby is definitely a good idea! In Deventer itself you can enjoy beautiful historic houses and small boutiques in the narrow shopping streets. Deventer also has a nice toy museum that is great fun for both adults and children.

The Wadden area

If you have never visited the Wadden area, now is the time. The Wadden area is the ideal place for people who love walking and cycling and Texel, Terschelling and Schiermonnikoog are the ideal place for a wonderful day at the beach in the summer. Moreover, due to the large number of tourists in the summer, it is always very pleasant on the Wadden Islands.

Dutch Flanders

If you fancy sun, sea, beach, but also a little peace and quiet, Zeeland Flanders is a wonderful destination for your holiday. Nice and close to the sea and the Zwin nature reserve is definitely worth a visit if you also enjoy walking and bird watching. In addition, Zeeland Flanders is a stone’s throw from the beautiful Belgian town of Bruges. A fantastic day out to do something different than baking on the beach all day.
