King’s Day 2024: this is how it is celebrated in Brabant

--

The king is celebrating his birthday and that means that we are once again putting on our orange sweaters and eating an orange tompouce. Children decorate their bicycles and the first dresses are already ready at the flea market.

King’s Day started drizzly, but it promises to clear up. In Berghem the rain did not spoil the plans this morning. Children simply took to the streets with their decorated bicycles. Mayor Wobine Buijs came to take a look at all the festive creations. Our colleagues from DTV also visited the orange parade.

They were also undeterred by the weather in Werkendam. The children and the brass band were enthusiastically present at the bicycle parade.

Free market in Oss
King’s Day is already in full swing in Oss. This morning there were already rugs with second-hand clothes, books and toys at the flea market.

Quiet in the Spoorpark
Although they didn’t care about the rain in Berghem and Werkendam, they started a little calmer in Tilburg. There are few people left at the flea market at the Spoorpark. Yet there are a few go-getters who are just ready to sell. Today there will not only be a children’s flea market in the Spoorpark, but also a camping sale at the Stadscamping, NK sidewalk chalk and various performances and food trucks.
